North Chennai Residents Demand Superfast and Express Train Stops at Wimco Nagar Railway Station!

Wimco Nagar railway station, present near to Wimco Nagar metro station and the bus stand at Tiruvottiyur, is making news now!!
Now, the passengers want the super fast and express trains to stop at Wimco Nagar railway station. It must be taken into account that the councillor of ward 4 belonging to GCC Mr. R. Jayaraman has addressed the demand to the Union minister for Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw. It is known that Wimco Nagar railway station is present along the Chennai Central- Gummidipoondi section of Chennai suburban railway network. Many residents from Thiruvottiyur etc use this railway station.
In his letter, Mr. Jayaraman has mentioned that if the superfast and express trains from north India stop at Wimco Nagar railway station then it would be of huge benefit for the passengers belonging to localities in north Chennai such as Tondiarpet, Washermenpet,Royapuram, Ennore, Manali, Madhavarametc. Point is that this was a long standing demand from the north Chennai residents.
It was later brought out by a resident from Ennore in north Chennai that if the superfast and express trains stop at Wimco Nagar railway station then the passengers would be able to board the trains at Wimco Nagar itself rather than going to Central station. For a long time, the passengers association in Thiruvallur has also been demanding a stoppage at Wimco Nagar railway station.
According to an officer from Southern Railways or SR, the railway station has 2 platforms and a new platform has been sanctioned for construction.
