TERRY FOX RUN to be conducted at Besant Nagar for creating cancer awareness!!
On 18th August, sixteenth edition of Terry fox run would be organised at the Besant Nagar from 6am in the morning. The place would be Olcott Memorial Higher Secondary School.
Point is that this run would be organised by the Rotary Club of Madras East with the support of Terry Fox Foundation Canada and the family of Akash Dube. It must be recalled that in 2009 it was Akash who brought it to Chennai to create awareness regarding cancer. There would be 2 categories in this like 3km/6km walking or running.
The registration for this is free and donations would be accepted. At nominal cost, T-shirts would be sold and the proceeds would go to the Adyar Cancer Institute.
On 17th August, the bib would be given from 9am to 4pm at YMCA in Nandanam. By using the website www.terryfoxrunchennai.in, those who are interested to take part could register.

To raise money for cancer research in commemoration of Canadian cancer activist Mr. Terry Fox, the Terry Fox Run is organised annually across the world. In the year 1981, this event was inaugurated. Regardless of age, athletic ability and socio-economic standing etc, everyone can take part in this cancer awareness event.
