The 100 year old government hospital at Saidapet is now grabbing the attention of many.
In January 2025, the government hospital in Saidapet would get an additional 200 bed facility. This was mentioned by the health minister Mr. M. Subramaniam. Point is that renovation for the new facility is going on and once completed it would be inaugurated by the chief minister of TN.
The sensational piece of information is that the GH in Saidapet has performed more than 10000 dialysis. Information is that this 100 yr old GH has treated more than 313864 outpatients and 75316 inpatients. About 2800 successful operations have been performed here.
Not only these, the GH in Saidapet has conducted 919318 blood tests and treated 1100 patients with angioplasty. Rotary Club and Larsen & Toubro or L&T have provided CSR funds to this GH and with the amount the hospital was able to receive medical equipment worth Rs 1.20 cr.
The health minister then spoke about how till now there have been zero monkeypox cases across Tamil Nadu. For the sake of precautionary measure, the passengers at airports in Chennai, Kovai, Trichy and Madurai are being screened now. The minister added that if anyone is infected by monkeypox then he or she would be admitted to the hospital immediately.
