Traffic Diversions Announced on Mount-Poonamallee Road Due to Metro Rail Work!
The Greater Chennai Traffic Police (GCTP) has announced traffic diversions on Mount-Poonamallee Road due to ongoing Chennai Metro Rail work at the Mount Poonamallee Road-Buhari Hotel junction to Kathipara flyover.
These diversions will be in effect from Sunday, August 25, to Tuesday, August 27, during night hours from 11 pm to 6 am on a trial basis.
Vehicles traveling from Kathipara flyover to Porur will not face any diversions. However, those coming from Porur towards Kathipara flyover will be redirected at the BEL Army Road junction.
Drivers will need to turn left onto the newly formed road opposite Buhari Hotel, proceed through Defence Colony 1st Avenue, Cantonment Road, Sundar Nagar 7th Cross, Dhanakotti Raja Street, and SIDCO Industrial Estate South Phase Road to reach the Olympia X 100 Feet Road junction. From there, they can either turn right to reach Kathipara or left to head towards Vadapalani.
