The state government is set to introduce four new diploma courses-Printing Technology, Textile Technology, Chemical Technology, and Leather Technology-in the academic year 2025-2026, in collaboration with Anna University and other top institutions. These diplomas, previously available only to engineering students, are expected to boost student admissions by 20% and enhance job prospects.
A committee of Directorate of Technical Education officials and industry experts will design a syllabus tailored to industrial needs. The official highlighted that the Printing Technology diploma will meet the growing demand in media and packaging, Textile Technology will open diverse career paths including fashion consulting, Chemical Technology will focus on modern chemical manufacturing, and Leather Technology will address job opportunities in the leather export and sports product sectors.
