As per the registrar of the University of Madras or MU it was confirmed that the 166th convocation ceremony would take place in the 4th week of September.
It must be taken into account that the vice chancellor of University of Madras has not been appointed till now. In such a scenario, it would not be possible to award degrees to the students. There are about 55000 male and female students who are waiting to get degrees now. It is now revealed that the Governor of TN Mr. N. Ravi has instructed the universities (that are unable to hold the graduation ceremony due to the absence of VC`s) to begin preparations for holding the graduation ceremony. This was mentioned by a press release.
Now, following the instructions the University of Madras has initiated the process for the convocation ceremony. Those research students who would be getting their degrees would have to pay their fees through the university website by 14th September. The convocation ceremony would be held in the fourth week of the month of September. No specific date has been mentioned. This was according to the release from the registrar.
