These days, many people use the Thiruninravur railway station that is between Chennai Central railway station and Arakkonam railway station.
Here, a new platform has been constructed at a cost of Rs 80lakhs. This new platform has been put to use now for the sake of the public. The passengers at this railway station have expressed their happiness regarding the stoppage of fast electric trains.
Near the Thiruninravur railway station is present many temples, colleges and factories etc. As a result, this station is always buzzing with crowds and more than 30000 people come and go in this station every day. The train services get affected here whenever maintenance works are carried out.
In this scenario, yesterday, a new platform constructed at Thiruninravur railway station came into use. By this new platform, the electric trains would be operated continuously. This has brought huge happiness on the face of many passengers now.
According to some officials belonging to the Chennai division of Southern Railways it was clear that a new platform has come into use (at the Thiruninravur railway station) to operate electric trains without any disruption. Point is that 8 fast trains from Arakkonam, Thiruvallur to Chennai would stop at Thiruninravur railway station. Currently, 4 fast trains are stopping here and steps would be taken for the other fast trains to stop here.
According to Mr. S. Murugayan, secretary of Thiruninravur Railway Passengers Welfare Association, the 15 year long demand of the passengers regarding a new platform and perimeter wall has been fulfilled now. He added that electric trains would not get delayed from now on and it would be of huge benefit for the passengers as fast trains would also stop at Thiruninravur railway station.
