Chennai Metro to Open Luxury Shopping Malls at Three Stations by July 2025!
The Metro Rail Administration has announced that commercial complexes will be opened at three metro stations in Chennai by July 2025.
With the increasing number of metro users, various steps are being taken to boost ridership. One of these initiatives is the opening of shopping malls at select metro stations.
In the first phase, luxury Lulu shopping malls will be established at Chennai Central, Shenoy Nagar, and Wimco Nagar metro stations. Grace Choices has partnered with the Lulu Group for this project. The malls will span 40,000 square feet at Central Metro, 1 lakh square feet at Shenoy Nagar, and 60,000 square feet at Wimco Nagar.
These facilities will be accessible not only to metro passengers but also to the general public. Construction began in July 2023, with all malls expected to open by July 2025, aiming to attract more passengers.
