The meteorological department in Chennai has informed that there would be heavy rains in one or two places belonging to the Delta districts in Tamil Nadu from today till 8th of October.
In the press release issued by the department it was mentioned that there is atmospheric downward air circulation present over Lakshadweep and its adjoining places. As a result of this, from today till 8th October there would be light to moderate rains with thunder and lightning in some places in TN plus in Puducherry, Karaikal etc.
Today, there are chances of heavy rains in Tamil Nadu in the delta districts of Thanjavur, Thiruvarur, Nagai, Mayiladuthurai, Pudukottai, Cuddalore, Villupuram, Chengalpet, Kanchipuram, Ranipet, Ariyalur, Perambalur, Kallakurichi, Vellore, Thiruvannamalai, Thirupathur and Trichy etc.
Districts to receive rains on 5th October:
It must be noted that on 5th of October in one or two there would be heavy rains in the delta districts and in the districts such as Pudukottai, Kallakurichi, Ariyalur, Thiruvannamalai, Perambalur, Trichy, Dindigul, Theni, Nilgiris, Erode,Salem, Cuddalore and villupuram.
Districts to receive rains on 6th October:
The districts like Ramanathapuram, Sivagangai, Madurai, Theni, Dindigul, Pudukottai, Delta districts, Cuddalore, Kallakurichi,Thiruvannamalai, Ariyalur,Perambalur, Trichy, Namakkal, Karur, Salem, Dharmapuri, Krishnagiri, Thirupathur, Erode, Tiruppur, Nilgris and hilly areas in Coimbatore would receive heavy rains on 6th October.
Districts to receive rains on 7th October:
There would be heavy rains on 7th October in one or two places belonging to the districts like Cuddalore, Ariyalur, Perambalur,Trichy, Kallakurichi, Salem, Namakkal, Karur, Dindigul, Theni, Erode, Tiruppur, Nilgris and Coimbatore etc.
Districts to receive rains o 8th October:
There would be heavy rains on 8th October in one or two places in the districts such as Coimbatore,Tiruppur, Theni, Dindigul, Erode,Virudhu Nagar, Tenkasi and in the hilly regions of Tirunelveli plus in Nilgiris and Kanyakumari etc.
In Chennai and in the suburbs, the sky would be cloudy today. There would be light to moderate rains with thunder and lightning in one or two places in Chennai.
In n the last 24 hours that ended at 8:30am yesterday, a maximum of 9 cm rains were recorded in Natrampalli in the district of Thirupathur, Yelagiri, and Kelavarapalli dam in Krishnagiri dist etc.
