Already busy Cathedral Road in Chennai would be very busy today as the chief minister Mr. M.K. Stalin would be inaugurating Kalaignar Centenary Park. An amount of Rs 46 cr was spent on this park that has many entertainment features. In this regard, a press release has been issued by the Tamil Nadu government.
According to the press release, last year during the Independence Day celebrations the CM of TN Mr. M.K. Stalin announced about the construction of a Centenary Park for Rs 25 cr on a 6.09 acre land near the Senganthal Poonga at Cathedral Road in Chennai. The release also mentioned that on 27th of February a foundation stone was laid by the chief minister of TN to construct a world class park for the sake of the Chennai residents.
It must be remembered that the land on which the park is located was recovered by the TN govt from a society and it was transferred to the Dept of Horticulture. In this situation, today, 7th October at 6pm in the evening the CM of TN would be inaugurating this sensational park.
Various features that are present in this park are
There is a high quality horticultural museum here and a 500m long zip line for rope hanging adventure activity. The visitors here would be surprised to see the artist`s gallery, continuous wine archway, 120m lengthy snow path plus an orchid hut of 2600 sqft. There is also a 16m high glass house with rare flowers on 10000 sq ft land, exotic birdhouse and green cave with 23 decorated arches, sunflower cobblestone pathway, wooden house, waterfalls, musical fountain, kids play area, vegetable garden of traditional look and snack bar etc.
Entry fee plus various other fees etc:
Information is that for adults the entry fee is Rs 100 and for the kids the entry fee is Rs 50. The visitors would have to pay separately for various features present in the park. It must be noted that the zip line adventure would cost Rs 250 for adults and Rs 200 for the kids. To visit the bird`s aviary and to feed the birds there, it would be Rs 150 for the adults and Rs 75 for the kids. In the evenings, to see the dancing musical fountains Rs 50 must be paid as a fee. Fees for seeing the glasshouse is Rs 50 for adults and Rs 40 for the kids. For savary ride by the kids, the fees are fixed as Rs 50. An amount of Rs 100 has been fixed for taking photographs and Rs 5000 for video recording etc. The entry fee would be valid for just 3 hours.
