To accommodate the festive rush for Deepavali on October 31, State Transport Undertakings will operate 14,016 buses, including 11,176 special buses, from October 28 to 30. The special buses will run from Chennai`s Koyambedu, Kilambakkam, and Madhavaram termini.
Transport Minister SS Sivasankar, after reviewing preparations, announced that 4,900 special buses would be deployed from Chennai, along with the usual 2,092 daily services. Additionally, 2,910 special buses will operate from other parts of the state during the three-day period.
To ease connectivity, MTC will run special link buses between CMBT and the Kilambakkam and Madhavaram terminals. Travelers are advised to use the Outer Ring Road via Vandalur or the OMR Thiruporur-Chengalpattu route to avoid congestion on the Tambaram and Perungalathur routes.

Return Buses After Deepavali
For return travel from November 2 to 4, the transport corporations will operate 12,846 buses. This includes 9,441 buses serving various routes and 3,405 special buses running between key destinations.
