Government Announces Subsidy for 250 CNG/Hybrid Autos for Women in Chennai
In a significant initiative to empower women, the Tamil Nadu government, through the Social Welfare Department, has announced a subsidy of Rs. 1 lakh for the purchase of 250 CNG/Hybrid autos exclusively for women in Chennai. This scheme aims to support women, particularly maids and destitute women, by providing them with a sustainable livelihood option.
Eligibility Criteria
To apply for this subsidy, applicants must meet the following qualifications:
- Only women are eligible to apply.
- Preference will be given to maids and destitute women.
- Applicants should be between 25 and 45 years of age.
- Must have passed the 10th standard.
- A valid driving license is required.
- Applicants must be residents of Chennai.
Application Process
Interested women can submit their applications at the Chennai District Social Welfare Office. The last date to apply for this scheme is November 23, 2024.
This initiative is expected to provide financial assistance and create more self-employment opportunities for women, promoting economic independence and empowerment across the city.
