Knowing just one or two languages itself is challenging!!
A 19 year old boy named Mahmood Akram from Chennai knows about 400 languages. This sensational boy has now caught the attention of many.
It is noteworthy that languages are not just a means of communication but they help us to go deep into a region`s culture, lifestyle and history etc. Mahmood Akram was born in Ramanathapuram but settled in Chennai based Shenoy Nagar. He spoke about how he got interested in knowing languages when he was just four years of age. It is amazing to note that Akram learnt 26 alphabets of English in just 6 days from his parents. Not only that, he learnt 216 Tamil letters in just 3 weeks.
Mahmood Akram`s father Dr. Mozhipriyyan knows about 16 languages thoroughly as he has worked in as many as 30 countries. It is really fantastic to note that after mastering modern Tamil Mahmood Akram began to explore its ancient versions of Tamili. Information is that Akram learnt other languages like Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Odia, Japanese, Chinese and all the 16 languages that his dad knew.
At the age of six, Akram began to type in all the 16 languages and by the age of eight he learnt as many as 50 languages with the help of the internet. In a talent show organised by the famous Guinness Book of World Records, Akram typed about 50 languages and set a record for the first time.
He had mastered about 200 languages when he was just 10 years of age and before the age of 12 he went on to learn 200more languages. It is really amazing that he knows some extinct languages also.
Akram spoke about how it was very tough to speak 400 languages and how he filtered out 46 major languages and began to learn before the age of 12. Unbelievable Akram!!
