Chennai`s Koyambedu wholesale market witnessed significant fluctuations in vegetable prices on February 17. While some items experienced a price drop, others saw a slight increase.
- Garlic, which was priced at ₹125 per kg on February 15, saw a drop of ₹15, now being sold at ₹110 per kg. Notably, garlic was priced at ₹250 per kg for the past few months.
- Raw mangoes maintained a steady price of ₹80 per kg for the past few days but saw a drop of ₹10 today, now available at ₹70 per kg.
- Cauliflower, which was ₹30 per kg on February 15, has now decreased by ₹10, selling at ₹20 per kg.
- Ooty carrots, on the other hand, saw a price increase from ₹35 per kg on February 15 to ₹45 per kg today.
Traders at the market attribute these fluctuations to supply variations and changing demand patterns.
