High tech residential training centre to be set up in Chennai for UPSC aspirants!!

Don`t be surprised if there are more UPSC rank holders from Tamil Nadu in the future!!

The already popular locality Shenoy Nagar in Chennai could become even more popular with an important addition. The news is that the chief minister of TN Mr. M.K. Stalin has announced that a high tech residential centre that would accommodate 500 civil services or UPSC aspirants would be set up at Shenoy Nagar. An amount of Rs 40 cr would be spent on this. The main objective behind this would be to increase the number of UPSC rank holders in Tamil Nadu.

Till 2016, more candidates from TN would clear the tough UPSC exam but in 2021 just 21 candidates appeared for the UPSC exam. This was as per the chief minister. He spoke about how the Naan Mudhalvan scheme aims to train more number of aspirants with required skills. It must be noted that the aspirants could utilise the scheme to clear the UPSC exams after taking training at Anna Administrative Staff College.

To prepare for the preliminary exam, each civil service aspirant is being given Rs 7500 per month for 10 months.  Those aspirants who clear the exam are paid an amount of Rs 25000 per month.

The measures that have been taken to increase the number of UPSC aspirants in TN have reaped huge success this year with as many as57 aspirants getting selected for various jobs. Truth is that out of a total of 57, as many as 50 aspirants have been trained under the Naan Mudhalvan scheme. This was brought to light by the chief minister.

On Saturday, a function would be held at Anna Administrative Staff College to felicitate those aspirants who have cleared UPSC exam.
