Setting up of a world class Taiwanese Industrial Park near Chennai plus other important details!!

In the future, a world class Taiwanese industrial park would be set up near Chennai for a mammoth amount of Rs 10000 crores. This would provide job opportunities to about 20000 manufacturers who are involved in spare parts production. This was announced by the industries minister Mr. TRP. Raja at the Legislative Assembly yesterday.

It must be noted that yesterday the Assembly members mentioned the demand for IT and industrial subsidiaries. After this, Mr. TRP. Raja explained that Tamil Nadu was the leading state across India in all the sectors including manufacturing, services, textiles, automobiles etc. In high-tech manufacturing, TN is now in the top. In 2021, exports of electronic devices were 1.66bilion USD and it increased to 9.56billion USD in 2024.

The industries minister later revealed that the desire of the CM of Tamil Nadu was to achieve widespread development in all parts across TN. For a long time, it was mentioned that there were no developments in southern parts of TN. In such a scenario, over the last 4 years.DMK govt has taken 30.32% of investments to the southern parts in TN. The southern places like Thoothukudi, Tirunelveli have been witnessing an unprecedented industrial development.

It is worth mentioning that the chief minister Mr. M.K. Stain was responsible for bringing in huge investments of Rs 35000 crores in the central delta regions in TN. These places did not have any industry for a long time. In Madurai, construction of a huge Tidel Park has been going in full steam. In the Melur constituency, a footwear park would be established. In Tirunelveli and Kanniyakumari, IT parks would be established and in Delta region and in Erode neo Tidel parks would be set up.

To create job opportunities for about 20000 manufacturers who manufacture spare parts for Taiwanese companies, a world class Taiwanese park would be set up near Chennai. An amount of Rs 10000 cr would be spent on this.

For a cost of Rs 650cr with an objective of creating 9000 new jobs, a SIPCOT industrial park would be established on an area of about 450 acres of land in Kallakurichi district in TN. On an area of 150 acres, a SIPCOT industrial park would be set up in Tenkasi district also. By this, about 3000 new jobs would be created.

In the same way, a SIPCOT industrial park would be set up in Sivagangai district with an amount of Rs 200 cr on an area of 100 acres of land. This would provide new jobs for about 2000 persons. A SIPCOT industrial park would be set up in Vellore district also at a cost of Rs 500 cr on an area of 250acres of land.

With an investment of Rs 250 cr on an area of 125 acres of land, a non-leather footwear manufacturing park would be set up in Thirupathur district in TN. About 2500 people, especially women, would get jobs by this. In the Kanchipuram district, 2000 bed workers` dorormitories would be set up at a cost of Rs 120 cr to help the industrial workers in Pillaipakkam, Oragadam and Vallam Varakal etc. It is worthy to mention that in Rajamadam in Pattukottai taluk a marine food processing and an export park would be set up on an area of 100 acres for Rs 200 cr.
