Indradhanush, an immunization of all unreached children under the age of two would be taken up in the 201 districts selected throughout the country.This immunization programme initiated by the Centre, would be launched in the districts on April 7.
Mission Indradhanush, depicting seven colours of the rainbow, aims at covering all those children who are either unvaccinated or are partially vaccinated against seven vaccine preventable diseases such as diphtheria, whooping cough, tetanus, polio, tuberculosis, measles, and Hepatitis B.Special camps would be held under the immunization programme from April 7 to 13
Camps are to be held at government primary health centres, health sub-centres, anganwadi centres, urban primary health centres, and identified schools from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
In the state, Coimbatore, Kancheepuram, Madurai, Thiruvallur, Tiruchirapalli, Tirunelveli, Vellore and Virudhunagar would be taken up.
Between March and June 2015, four special vaccination campaigns will be conducted, in the first phase of the Mission. This will cover all children under two years of age and pregnant women,
