So far, there have been no clear details offered regarding the prospects for heart attack for those who do regular physical exercises!
However, in certain corridors, it is strongly felt that some factors increase the prospects of heart attacks for those who do regular physical exercises.
However, there are clear prospects of heart attack for the following categories of persons who undertake regular (severe) physical exercises not suited for their age:
- Hereditary/family background of heart attacks
- Persons who do not have a normal heartbeat
- Persons who have swollen heart
- Persons with high blood pressure
- Diabetics
- Persons with high blood cholesterol
- Persons with thyroid issues
- Tobacco smokers
- Persons having problems in heart tissues/ heart blood veins by birth
When pressure is increased in the interior walls of the heart blood vessels while undertaking severe physical exercises, the interior walls contract – known as ‘Coronary Artery Spasm’! This leads to a reduction in the quantum of blood leading to the heart walls. Further, the production of hormones known as catecholamine increases exorbitantly while doing severe physical exercises. Because of this, the particles/corpuscles which have to be revolving and moving independently bunch together instead! These bunches block the heart veins.
Another reason is that during the physical exercise period, there will be a remarkable increase in the quantum of blood required for the heart! The heartbeat also increases!
For those who already have heart-beat issues and those who have lesser oxygen in the blood circulation, the heart-beat increases resulting in the blood clots formed in different parts drifting and blocking the heart vein. This leads to a heart attack!
How to prevent this?
The persons indulging in physical exercises, participating in sports competitions, weight-lifting, and running races, etc., MUST TAKE ALL RELATED TESTS BEFORE UNDERTAKING THESE – SUCH AS BLOOD TESTS, ECG, ECHO, TREADMILL, ETC., AND KNOW THE RESULTS!
After this, there is a need to take these tests at least once in the next 2 years.
However, practically, most of the people undertaking physical exercises, WITH SOME SMUG SELF-CONFIDENCE, DO NOT TAKE CARE SUCH PRECAUTIONARY MEASURE!
Medical consolation is a MUST even while selecting the type of physical exercises to be undertaken. The physical exercises MUST BE SELECTED based on THE INDIVIDUAL PHYSIQUE.
However, most people undertake tissue strengthening exercises just after watching those who do it – especially, the film stars! Some go on to take ONLINE training as well!
BUT, please note both the above are wrong!
The reason for this advice: When a person is relaxing, the heartbeat must be 60 to 100 beats per minute. Like this, there is a limit fixed for the increase in heart-beat while undertaking physical exercises. This is fixed by deducting one’s age from 220. For example, if a person is of 30 years of age, the heartbeat must be \: 220-30=190 at maximum!
In case the person happens to be a smoker, the heart-beat while undertaking physical exercises MUST BE only HALF of the above (190/2=95! If the heartbeat is above this, there are very strong prospects for heart attacks to occur!
While undertaking physical exercises, the heartbeat normally increases by 60-80%.
While undertaking medium physical exercises, it increases by 70-85%.
While undertaking severe physical exercises, it increases by 80-95%. – This is the point where the risk lurks around!
SO, DO NOT UNDERTAKE PHYSICAL EXERCISES WITHOUT APPROVAL FROM THE MEDICAL EXPERTS!
Generally, 5 hours of physical exercise per week are recommended.
In this context, IT IS BETTER TO AVOID SEVERE EXERCISES TAKEN FOR LONG CONTINUOUS DURATIONS!
TAKE CARE!
