Women tend to spend more time to care for their beauty and appearance. However, most women gain weight and look fat post-delivery. A research was conducted about the same in Australia. The research was conducted for about 10 years and it involved 6300 Australian women of age between 18 and 23.

The research studied several aspects in them including their weight patterns before conception and after delivery a baby. The study results showed that unmarried women gained 11 pounds of weight in 10 years, whereas women who got married and delivered baby(s) gained 20 pounds in 10 years.

The doctor involved in the research stated the reasons for such weight gain which are as follows:

Weight gain in women begins after their marriage, after the birth of first child. Again, during the second delivery, the body weight increases yet again. The second weight gain will however be lesser than the first. Such weight gain will cause several problems in them. To prevent such weight gain, food habits should be cared well.

Women prefer eating packaged food items more. This stands as a primitive reason for weight gain. Their physical activities have become less too and they sleep for long hours which add to the reason for their weight gain.

Hence the daily consumption of food should also be reduced and physical activity and exercise are must.
