Birth of a baby always brings huge delight to a family and every day lots of babies are born all over is well known. The latest news that has come out now is babies born by caesarean procedure are at high risk of getting respiratory infections plus obesity, diabetes, eczema, metabolic disorders etc.

A study published in Journal Birth revealed that caesarean born babies are at great risk of getting health complications when compared to normal born babies.

It must be noted that a study was carried out on more than one lakh babies of healthy women aged between 20 and 35 with full term pregnancies without complications.

It was concluded that babies born by medical interventions like caesarean procedure etc had three times higher risk of getting health issues in them.

It is shocking to note that babies born by this caesarean procedure could develop hypothermia after they their birth and this could be till 5 years of age. Other health problems like obesity and diabetes could affect these babies when they grow older.

According to a famous obstetrician Dr. A. Shanti, in order to ease the delivery process the number of caesarean sections of delivery had increased many times in the last few years.

She also threw light on the fact that adverse effect of this caesarean procedure lasts both in babies as well as in mothers throughout their lives. This doctor spoke about how pregnancy and delivery of a baby is a natural process and how the medical interventions change the natural nature of this process.

Sedentary lifestyle is given as the reason now for the increased number of caesarean procedure these days. This instrumental procedure would result in jaundice, eczema plus other respiratory issues in their later stages of the lives of babies.

Dr. Mala Raj who is a consultant gynaecologist at Firm Hospitals expressed her opinion and said these days there are many cases of pregnant women coming with moving heads and cephalo - pelvic disproportion and this was due to their sedentary lifestyle. In these cases normal labour would not be possible and medicos opt for caesarean sections to end the complications associated. She also highlighted that long-term outcomes are neglected by the medicos.
