Taking selfies could lead to wrist problem reveals study

We are living in the electronic world and mobile phones are being used widely by many of us these days is known. Many of us apart from communicating with others use our mobile phones for taking selfies. A recent research had revealed one shocking piece of news. It is said that taking selfies using their mobile phones could lead to ‘selfie wrist’ in us. People are being warned about this issue now.

It is well known that Carpal tunnel syndrome is a condition that results in severe pain plus numbness, tingling sensation in the hands etc. The important information that was collected was ‘selfie wrist’ is one form of this Carpal tunnel syndrome. In this selfie wrist also people would have pain due to flexing the wrist inwards or by holding the mobile phone for long periods of time without moving.

This issue of having selfie wrist has been diagnosed by many doctors in the recent times. The research study has been published in the Irish Medical Journal. Many incidents such as jumping on the trampoline, walking on the rocks, not paying enough attention and breaking the wrists from colliding or falling have been reported. The shocking piece of news is between the months of October in the year 2011 to the month of November in the year 2017 there have been as many as 259 deaths associated with taking selfies. The study conducted in 2018 revealed that many of these selfie deaths took place in places like Russia, India, USA and Pakistan etc.
