In the earlier days, only old people were affected with diabetes. However, in the present days, even children are affected with diabetes. Most young people  (kids & youth) are afflicted with Type-1 Diabetes. Their system cannot produce insulin.

International Diabetes Forum has informed that over 500000 children are affected with Type-1 Diabetes as per the reports for the year 2013.

In this scenario, a latest survey on this front conducted this year has established that women affected with Type-1 Diabetes face the risk of death 40% more as compared to men with the same disease.

The survey informs that women are 37% more likely to be affected by paralysis and 44% with kidney-related problems as compared to men with the same Type-1 diabetes.

Failure to regularly monitor and control blood sugar levels and the hardships associated with the treatment of diabetes are cause for women to suffer death due to heart problems.

It is also established that diabetes tends to destroy disease protective capacity of women which is generally better than men!
