Babies get essential microbes from mother`s milk that makes them "more prepared" to easily assimilate (digest) solid food later in their life time, says a new recent study. Babies who forgo on breast feed are more expected to acquire stomach aches and colic (cramps and indigestion troubles).

The research team confirmed that a baby`s diet in the initial few months has a fabulous power on the constitution, assortment and permanency of the gut microbes. They discovered that babies who are fed only breast milk during the first 5 to 6 months, have microbial groups that seem more set for the starter of solid foods, says the expert.

For this study, the team amassed stool samples and data on the diets and health of about nine babies as they starts matured from 2 weeks to 14 months. Applying Genomic Sequencing Techniques to the stool samples, they inferred the types and roles of the bacteria in the babies` gut microbes. This study shown that in the first few months of life, there were clear disparities amid the microbiomes of babies that were wholly breastfed when paralleled to those fed both formula milk and the breast milk, reported Daily Mail.

This research delivers yet more backing for suggestions by the World Health Organisation and others to breastfeed totally in the first six months of life, added experts. This study was printed in the journal of Cellular and Infection Microbiology.
