How can poor dental hygiene affect your overall wellbeing?

You have been taught about dental hygiene right from your school times. Not just your appearance, but your entire health is influenced by your dental hygiene. Most common troubles with dental health are tooth loss or cavity isseus. According to dental practitioners, bacteria in our mouth stands behind as reason for various health issues such as diabetes, and other respiratory troubles. Here is a brief list of health problems caused by body-mouth connection:
 
Periodontal disease – this can also be termed as gum disease which is caused due to dental or oral health. This condition begins as gingivitis which creates redness of gums, swelling and bleeding in gums. This can turn severe if left unattended and can even destroy gum tissues and bones that stand supporting the teeth

Endocarditis – this condition is the inflammation of heart’s inner layer. This is caused due to the bacteria present in mouth. Bacteria find their way into the bloodstream through minor gum diseases or cuts in gums

Loss of memory – Your dental health also has its effect on your brain. This will narrow down or even block your brain arteries. When brain arteries are affected, it will lead to memory loss or dementia
 
Cardiovascular disease – When the bacteria causing Periodontitis remains in the mouth, it will lead to different types of heart diseases, clogging in arteries, or even stroke
