Namaz is a way of offering prayers by the Muslims. In addition to bowing down for the purpose of divinity, the postures have got several health benefits that are unknown to most of us. Below are these unknown or hidden benefits of Namaz.
Niyat – Niyaz is the very first stage of Namaaz. In this position, the person should stand with his feet held together and arms are raised and placed at position just below the chest. The palms should be positioned one on top and the other at the bottom. By placing the hands so, the individual’s hands placed below chest level will be coherent with the heart chakra. The heart chakra will be corresponding to the functioning of heart, lungs and circulatory system. Apart from physical functions, emotions such as love, compassion and empathy are governed by the heart chakra. When the chakra is activated, the mind gets relaxed and chakra gets opened up. This connects the person with the cosmic energy.
Rukoo – This is the next step in Namaz in which the person bends at the waist and the palm is placed on knees. This is quite similar to Ardha uttansasna which is a type of yoga pose. It helps in making your back muscles flexible and stimulates abdomen and stomach regions.
