Is there any link between energy-enhancing drinks & brain problems?

A survey was undertaken to find out the extent of effects of the energy-enhancing drinks taken by youngsters in order to keep awake during night while studying.

Though it was well-known that energy-enhancing drinks like Red Bull contained excessive sugar & caffeine, this study was undertaken with the specific purpose of extent of effect on the functioning of the brain.
 
The survey came up with shocking news that especially youngsters already affected with brain fever (TBI) taking these type of energy-enhancing drinks may lead them to faint or even to be admitted in the hospital for the entire night.

The research team is from Canada which surveyed 10000 persons between the ages of 11 & 20 came up with this shocking observation.

It was revealed that some of the persons in this age group get more addicted to these energy-enhancing drinks especially if they had been affected with brain fever earlier.

Dr. Michael Kusimeno, a member of the research team, informed that the excess caffeine contained in these drinks reacts with the chemicals in the brain and affects the proper functioning of the brain. He also informed that it is essential to carry out studies harmful effects on the brain caused by this habit. This is critical as the brain is n the growing stage particularly in this age group and the harms caused may be detrimental to the brain growth.

The research team has warned the students especially not to get into the habit of addiction to energy-enhancing drinks under the necessity to study hard.
