A senior, well known dermatologist has said that face oils can be great for skin health. Says the doctor, As I get a deep understanding of face oils over the years, I admit that it is an amazing world with so many ingredients and most of them are therapeutic. Not only are face oils a cure for dry skin, but they are also effective at treating a wide range of skin conditions, right from hyper pigmentation, stretch marks to acne.

According to experts, face oils are light and soft preparations that are made of natural oils like avocado, argan, olive and sesame, among others. These are used as a base and mixed with therapeutic ingredients. They say, We recommend argan, almond and olive oils for the face. These oils have moisturising properties, are used in many face products and are great for dry skins. Women who have oily, acne prone skin can use tea-tree oil - avoid applying on the entire face - use an ear bud to apply a drop of tea tree oil on the acne.

Thanks to different ingredients in them, face oils are rich in anti oxidants. They can also be used as a foundation or sun screen, and even a primer. Argan oil has anti inflammatory properties. Most face oils are lipophilic in nature. This means that they penetrate the lipid layer of the skin, preventing water or moisture loss.

Face oils are combined with anti ageing ingredients like retinol, glycolic acid and vitamin C. They help in deeper penetration into the skin.

Acne and rosacea are reduced with aroma oils like orange, peppermint and tea tree, that are present in face oils. Are sure to consult a doctor before using a product.

A leading cosmetologist says, Regular application of sweet almond and olive oil twice daily throughout your pregnancy, can give you absolutely stretch-mark free skin.
