So far, about 28 individuals are affected by dengue fever in New Delhi. The Delhi Corporations have issued notice to 1,286 companies for not taking necessary action to prevent spreading of dengue.
Every year, Dengue fever begins in the month of June in Delhi. We are helpless to save people from falling prey for it. Last year, there were 15,867 victims for dengue out of which 60 of them lost lives. This is the maximum of all the devastation caused by dengue in the past two decades. This has caused more impact right in the beginning of the year.
Between 1st and 25th of June last year, dengue had affected only 6 individuals, but in this year, 28 of them are affected. This is likely to increase further in the following days.
Sources from the Delhi Corporation state that 13 individuals in Delhi and 15 of them in and around are affected by dengue this year. Apart from this, there are many others who are admitted in private hospitals too. Hence, it is more likely that dengue will affect people more in number this year. All its effects can be prevented only by taking necessary measures along with the support of general public.
Amidst these, for not taking enough preventive measures, 3 Delhi Corporations have issued notice to 1286 companies. Twelve of them are imposed with penalty. This is inclusive of four government hospitals as well.
Due to severe rain showers in Delhi in the past few weeks, mosquitoes are found more in numbers here. The government is in full swing works to prevent mosquitoes. Only then will they be able to prevent loss of lives, say social activists.
