Dark circles around the eyes are a result of anaemia, allergies, hyper-pigmentation, dehydration, smoking or sleep deprivation. Here are a few home remedies to fix dark circles.
Almond oil is rich in Vitamin E. It moisturises the thin skin that is under the eyes. It also reduces the appearance of crow’s feet and fine lines around the eyes. Apply almond oil under your eyes every night before going to bed. Wash off in the morning.
One of the causes of dark circles is inflammation and puffiness. Applying mint leaves has a cooling effect on the skin, and helps correct these problems. Mint leaves also help to refresh blood vessels around the eyes and ease circulation. Apply a paste of mint leases under the eyes. Leave on for 10 to 15 minutes and wipe off.
Lycopene and Vitamin C help open up blood vessels and improve cell growth. Both of these are found in tomatoes. Tomatoes also help to lighten the skin, it works as a great de tanner. Apply a paste and 1 tsp tomato juice, half a teaspoon of lemon juice, a pinch each of turmeric and gram flour under the eyes. Leave on for 10 to 15 minutes and rinse.
