A leading nutritionist in Hyderabad has said that people nowadays look for non fat foods and supplements in the market without making sure that it matches with their food schedules and knowing if their body would be able to accept it.
Says the nutritionist, We often find that people are adding excess protein to their diet or an excess of fibre. Anything in excess is harmful for the body. It has been found that a shift in food pattern to lose weight must be done scientifically by understanding the body type. The ideal body fat for men in the age-group of 20 to 55 years varies from 8.5 per cent to 20.9 per cent and for women within this age-group, it varies from 17.7 per cent to 33 per cent. Fat is required for physical activity and to keep body warm. Hence a proper balance must be maintained. Latest research has shown that ghee is good for the body and must be consumed in small quantities every day.
