Ohio State University Professor Ihuoma Eneli informed that giving antibiotics frequently to children may lead to their obesity.
There are several reasons for children to become obese. Genes, unhealthy food, and lack of physical exercise are cited as some important reasons. However, according to the professor of the Ohio State University, Ihuoma Eneli, giving frequent antibiotics to children is also a major reason for obesity among children.
The professor explained that it has been clearly established by the statistics collected from a survey of children. They collected that data of the number of times children under the age of 2 being given antibiotics. When these children became 10 years old, it was found that 95 percent of the children given frequent antibiotics were found to be obese.
Professor Ihuoma Eneli explained that by giving these children affected by obesity due to taking frequent antibiotics can be given food items such as sweet and rich in fats. By giving healthy and nutritious food and making them do regular physical exercises, the children may get cured of their obesity.
