A new study has said that part from numerous benefits for the body, fish oil also contributes to maintaining mental health. It that the Omega-3 fatty acids in fish oil help with enhancing brain functioning and also acts against inflammation. Its also particularly beneficial for soldiers because of consistent training and physical regimes, along with risk of traumatic brain injuries.
The study was conducted with 100 soldiers to identity what affected mood of soldiers returning from combat.
The study found out that soldiers with lower levels of Omega-3 in their blood are more likely to commit suicide as compared to those with higher levels. This comes as a breakthrough for improving mental health among soldiers through appropriate diet.
