Have you ever thought about how our body gets protection from infectious diseases, foreign invaders etc. It is due to the presence of white blood corpuscles or WBCs in our bodies.
Known as leukocytes or leucocytes, these WBCs are the cells present in the immune system and they protect our bodies from the infectious diseases etc. It must be noted that these WBCs originate from the bone marrow and circulate through the blood stream. The five major types of WBCs are neutrophils, lymphocytes, monocytes, eosinophils and basophils. In one micro-litre of blood of a healthy person there are as many as 4500 to 11000 WBCs present is a known fact. Presence of less than 3500 WBC count leads to low count and this low WBCs count would lead to fatigue, weakness, breathing issues etc. It is said that having below 1000 WBC would result in many infections in us. The below mentioned foods would help to increase WBCs naturally in us.
By consuming seeds and grains - By consuming seeds and grains vitamin E is got by our body and this vitamin E would help to increase the production of these killer cells plus B-Cells also.
Zinc is present in pumpkin seeds, watermelon seeds etc are known. This zinc plays huge role in the production of WBCs in us.
Consume green tea - This consumption of green tea also helps in the production of more WBCs in us. It must be noted that this green tea has got antioxidants in it and this helps our bodies to fight any infection.
Consuming fruits and vegetables - Fruits such as oranges, guava, strawberries etc are rich in vitamin C is known. This vitamin C helps in the production of WBCs in us. Vitamin A is present in vegetables like sweet potato, broccoli, carrots etc helps to produce WBCs.
Consumption of flax oil and fishes - Fishes like salmon and mackerel has great amounts of omega 3 fatty acids and it improves our immune system. Similarly by consuming flax oil that is rich in omega 3 fatty acids our immune system would be improved.
Consuming dairy products, soy and rice based beverages - These foods like soy, rice beverages plus dairy products like milk, cheese, eggs etc are very important and must be consumed by us. Deficiency of vitamin B12 would lead to low WBC count and by consuming these foods the vitamin B12 gets increased and hence WBC count also increases.
