Foods that has been washed incorrectly

It is very important to wash fruits and vegetables before consumption to wipe away impurities and other dangerous chemicals over the top layer of the foods. Some wash the fresh vegetables and fruits with vinegar to remove any kind of pesticide residue left over the skin layer. But there are some nuances to be followed in terms of washing certain foods. Below are the list of foods and correct washing methods that should followed to clean it better for consumption.

Cabbage

Pork tapeworm is one of the common brain worm that feeds on the vegetables such as cabbage, cauliflower, kale and broccoli. So it is necessary to cut down upper layers of such vegetables though fine chopping and then wash it with vinegar solution. Submerging the cabbage inside the turmeric water is also one of the best methods to destroy germs and other worms. After the vegetables are washed with vinegar or turmeric water rinse it with clean water once again before starting the process of cooking.

Frozen fruits and vegetables

Frozen foods are the modern time saviors helping people for bulk shopping and storage owing to busy lifestyle. Even though freezing foods for late cooking is not that much heathy the habit almost became a household practice. So it is very important to learn how to wash frozen fruits and vegetables. Take out the fruits and vegetables half an hour or one hour before consuming or cooking. Allow the food to regain the normal room temperature and then wash it with vinegar solution or turmeric rock salt water solution to wipe away any kind of harmful toxic substances.

Fish

Any kind of non-vegetarian cooking should be carefully approached before cooking it. Cleaning the fish and other sources of protein such as chicken and mutton inside the kitchen faucet may increase the risk of bacterial infection. So clean all the utensils, faucets and knife used for cleaning of the meat as soon as possible for avoiding any kind of infection.

Apple

Apple is a wonderful fruit beneficial for our health in many ways but the primary concern with apples is the application of wax over the skin layer. Pesticide usage and wax can cause serious damages to our digestive tract enabling many kinds of inflammatory diseases when subjected to prolonged use of the fruit without proper washing. So consume it after peeling away the skin or wash it with baking soda for 12 to 15 minutes of soaking time. This will clear all the chemicals present over the skin layer of apples.

Grapes

Grapes ranks first in the list of highly dangerous pesticide based food sprayed directly on the fruit when it is cultivated. It is highly dangerous to eat grapes directly from the market without washing. Take a big container with water, add rock salt and few drops of lemon juice. You can also add turmeric powder into the solution. Submerge the entire bunch of grapes into the container and keep it aside for two to three hours. Then rinse it with normal clean water before eating.
