For some persons, because of lying on the bed for long time or sitting in a wheelchair for longer duration of time etc, their skin would be under severe pressure. These bed sores are also called by other names like pressure sores, pressure ulcers etc. The important truth is bed sores could occur in the persons in any of their parts that are under constant pressure. Wounds must be kept clean:

This is very important and the wounds must be kept neat and clean to prevent infection. By washing with soap and water, cleaning could be done. Not many know that by relieving the pressure the bed sores could be treated well. Once the pressure is relieved then it is important to clean the sores plus dress the wounds and change the dressing when required. For faster healing process it is important to remove dead tissue from the sores. Intake of healthy food is a must.

By shifting the positions frequently:

It is known that bed sores takes place when a person applies heavy pressure on the skin constantly. By shifting the positions frequently, pressure on the affected area could be eased.
