The medical journal Lancet has recently published a shocking survey report that 1 out of 5 persons dies due mainly to the failure of not following the proper diet! The survey was carried out by the ‘Global Pattern of DCS’, a section of the Washington University, USA.
The survey reveals that India is in the 118th place among the countries listed for most deaths occurring due to improper diet systems. The survey was conducted among 195 countries.
Uzbekistan is in the 1st place as the country where the most deaths occur due to it improper diet systems. Israel is in the last place. China is in 140th place.
Regularly eating food items as treated meat dishes and food items with excess sugar and salt leads to the risk of being affected by heart-diseases and cancer. The number of people who died on this complaint has crossed 1.10 Crores in the year 2017.
The main reasons attributed these deaths are the changed food habits – reduced eating of milk, fruits, nuts, and grains and eating more of the fast-food variety and treated mat.
In a survey published in January, the correct diet habit has been defined and outlined. It recommends double the present intake of fruit, vegetables, grains and roots and reducing by 40% the intake of treated meat and food items with excess sugar and salt.
