Sometimes, when we consume a hot cup of coffee/ tea or when we consume cold and delicious ice creams, we would have felt teeth sensitivity and pain.

It must be noted that our teeth are made up of dentin and the protective layer over it is the enamel. The point here is dentin lies under the enamel and gums. When this enamel becomes thinner, then the teeth (mostly dentin) get exposed to all that we consume. In the absence of enamel, anything hot or cold when consumed could give us severe pain. This is called a sensitive tooth.

There are few reasons for this teeth sensitivity and they are brushing aggressively or using hard brush to clean teeth, broken teeth or tooth decay that would expose dentin. Sometimes, gum erosion would expose the root of the teeth leading to tooth sensitivity.

These are some of the home remedies for teeth sensitivity issues.

Chewing guava leaves:

Tooth sensitivity could be reduced by guava leaves having anti-inflammatory properties. In the first step, some guava leaves are taken and put in the mouth and chewed for a minute. In the next step, they are spit and mouth is rinsed with water. Secondly, few guava leaves could be added to the cup of water and boiled. This solution could be used for rinsing the mouth.

By applying garlic paste:

Apart from being used in many dishes, garlic has also got superb medicinal property. It must be noted that garlic processes an antibacterial agent and a natural anesthetic. In the first step, 2 or 3 garlic cloves are taken and made as a paste by adding 2 drops of water. Then, this paste is applied to the affected area.

By applying clove oil:

It is revealed that the eugenol in clove oil acts as a natural anesthetic due to its germicidal property.  In the first step, some cotton is taken and it is soaked in clove oil. Then, this cotton is applied to the affected area.

By applying arnica gel:

Inflammation, as well as pain, gets reduced by arnica. It is important to mention that arnica gel is taken and applied to the sensitive area.
