Donot forget to include these calcium rich foods in the diet for the bone health.

Our bones and teeth tissues are made up of calcium, phosphorus, potassium and vitamin D. Hence it is important that we must eat a diet consisting of these nutrients in order to keep our bones as well as teeth healthy and strong.

It is worthy to note that in the vegetarian diet the food sources of these nutrients are limited. It is for this reason that many vegetarian eaters rely on the supplements to provide their body with enough amounts of vitamin D and calcium etc.

It is necessary that we must include these below mentioned food in our diet for our bones and teeth to be strong and healthy.

Include seeds:

Seeds are rich in calcium and they must be consumed without fail for our bones to be strong. Few examples of seeds that are consumed are poppy seeds, sesame seeds, chia seeds etc. It is superb to mention here that seeds have fiber content and protein and intake of seeds could make us feel full. This could result in weight loss.

Include yoghurt, cheese etc:

For those who consume vegetarian foods, dairy is the major source of calcium. These people could include vegetarian foods like yoghurt, cheese, milk, buttermilk etc for their daily requirements of calcium.

Include beans and lentils:

It is said that vegetarians must consume calcium rich foods like beans and lentils for their bone and teeth health.

Include almonds:

The important point is almonds are rich source of calcium. In the summer season, almonds could be soaked overnight in water, outer brown layer removed and then consumed. In the winter season, almonds could be roasted with ghee and salt could be sprinkled and they could be consumed by us.

Include dark leafy greens:

Green leafy vegetables such as collard, spinach and kale etc are rich in calcium. It is believed that one cup of cooked collard packs 25 % of our daily calcium needs. So intake of green leafy vegetables is very important.

Include rhubarb:

Majority of us are unaware of the fact that rhubarb contains calcium. The important information is rhubarb has fibres, vitamin K and other minerals and vitamins also. It is said that by consuming rhubarb we could get few health benefits apart from strong bones.

Include edamame:

It must be noted that edamame is salted green soybeans boiled in their pods. This edamame has calcium and intake of edamame is important for the bones.
