Woman, please be careful about these signs of abnormal periods!!

Every girl would get her periods in her teens mostly between 12 to 15 years of age and this is normal. There are times when a girl would get her periods below 12 years and above 15 years also. It must be noted that there is no such thing like normal periods. Truth is that period could lead to lots of changes inside the body of a woman. To monitor health, it is important to keep an eye on the menstrual cycle. The body could affect the menstrual cycles due to fluctuations in the hormones. For every woman, periods might look different and it would depend on the frequency of periods, time duration and heavy flow etc..

There is no need to worry as long as the period stays consistent. A girl or Women must report these signs of abnormal periods to their doctors without fail.

Various signs of abnormal periods are

Heavy blood flow:
Reproductive health is not good is shown by abnormal and heavy bleeding. It has been confirmed by doctors that heavy menstrual bleeding could be due to PCOS or thyroid disorder or fibroids etc.

Heavy intense cramps:
Throbbing and intense pain experienced by women in the lower abdomen during their periods is not normal. Normally, every woman during her periods gets pain and it could be due to high levels of prostaglandins, hormone fluctuations etc. Intense pain must not be ignored and the women must consult a doctor. So, please take care.

Missed periods:
Two important reasons for missed periods are pregnancy and menopause. There are also times when there would be missed periods due to stress or due to PCOS etc. The missed periods issue must also not be taken lightly and the doctor must be consulted.

Blood clots:
Presence of blood clots during the menstrual periods could make a woman worry. It must be taken into account that menstrual clots are a mixture of blood cells, blood by products, mucus and tissues etc. It is worthy to note that when the blood clot is very dark red in colour and bigger in size then it is not normal.

Severe mood changes:
This could also be an important sign that would reveal that the period in women is not normal. Every woman would have mood swings to a certain level and when the mood swing becomes extreme and keeps her from doing daily activities then it is serious. It might be due to premenstrual dysphoric disorder also. The combination of lifestyle changes and medications could provide a solution for this issue.

Spotting between periods:
In some women, bleeding might occur even when she is not having her periods or even after the menopaususe stage. It could be due to fibroids, signs of endometriosis from a problem in the lining of the uterus etc.

Diarrhoea issue:
Research studies have mentioned that around 73% of women get diarrhoea, abdominal pain etc during periods. Truth is that if diarrhoea is severe and unusual period symptoms then it must not be ignored.
