Acne and skin dryness:
Not only hormonal changes and accumulation of dust could lead to acne and skin dryness but deficiency of vitamins also. When a person does not have enough vitamin A and E then he or she would have acne on their face. The skin would look pale when he or she has got deficiency of vitamin B12.
Swollen and puffy eyes:
The swelling in our eyes could be due to allergies mostly. It could also happen especially in the morning due to low levels of iodine in the body. It must be taken into account that iodine deficiency has been related to thyroid diseases.
Bleeding gums:
This is one most important symptom that is seen in many. This issue could be due to deficiency of vitamin C. Other name for this is scurvy. The person would also show other symptoms like easy bruises, bleeding, joint and muscle pain etc. It is good to eat vitamin C rich foods like oranges, lemons etc to avoid issues due to vitamin C deficiency..
Pale and discoloured lips:
It is believed that having pale discoloured lips would reveal underlying diseases. This issue could be mostly seen in those who are anaemic. This condition occurs due to low levels of red blood cells. Lack of RBC count could be due to low levels of iron and there would be difficulty in carrying oxygen to the body tissues. This could lead to discolouration of lips and skin.
Damaged dry hair:
If a person lacks biotin or vitamin B7 then he or she could have damaged and dry hair. It is biotin that would keep the hairs well nourished. A person could have dry hairs with dandruff due to low levels of vitamin B7. Brittle nails and hair thinning would also be there. It is important to consume foods rich in vitamin B7 like fruits, lean meat, and legumes.
Mouth ulcers or cracks at mouth corners:
Lack of vitamins might lead to lesions in and around the mououth. Deficiency of iron or vitamin B could lead to canker sores in the mouth. Some studies have proved that those with mouth ulcers would have deficiency of iron in them. Other studies have shown that the deficiency of vitamin B1, B2 and B6 could also be responsible for mouth ulcers in certain persons.
