Appearance is always given lots of importance by us in our lives. Sometimes, our lips might become swollen and give us an abnormal appearance. As a result, we might feel shy to face others to avoid humiliation etc.
There are various reasons for the swollen lips like nutritional deficiencies, insect bites, dehydration, viral infection, injury, food allergy etc. Underlying inflammation or fluid getting built up under the skin of the lips could lead to swollen lips. The lips would cut and bleed if the conditions of the lips deteriorate. Then the person would feel the pain in his or her lips and due to that the person would not be able to drink or eat also. The swollen lips issue is not serious and it might go on its own.

By using ice cubes:
Instant relief from pain could be obtained by using ice cubes over the swollen lips. The process of keeping ice over swollen lips must be done every 10 minutes. The ice cubes must be wrapped in a soft cloth and kept over the swollen lips.
By warm water:
The blood circulation in the body would increase by warm water. By using warm water on the swollen lips the pain would not be there. In the first step, a cloth is taken and immersed in warm water. Then this cloth is left over the swollen lips for some time.
By using turmeric:
The wounds and cuts on the lips can be treated by using cucurmin present in the turmeric. It is true that turmeric is known for its healing properties. Fuller`s earth and cold water could be used to prepare ointment. This could be applied on the swollen lips. It is allowed to dry and later washed with lukewarm water.
By using aloe vera:
Swelling of lips due to mosquitoes bite or insect bites and due to allergies etc can be treated well by using aloe vera. Here, aloe vera is taken and applied to the swollen lips and massaged gently.
By using baking soda:
Fever blisters, allergic reactions and insect bites could lead to swollen lips and baking soda could provide a suitable solution for this issue. Firstly, baking soda is mixed with water and made as a paste. Next, the paste is applied over the swollen lips. After 10 minutes, baking soda is washed from the lips.
