Apollo Hospital launched the new Tele-Radiology remote consulting and diagnostic services on Monday. This new technology will assist the diagnosis for several radiology centers by aiding in transmitting images from the remote location to the radiologists.
This
Tele-Radiology service was inaugurated by Former President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam.
He said that the digital transfer of X-rays will aid chief health centers
across the country.
Because
of this new technology, the multi specialty doctors will be able to provide an
immediate diagnosis and treatment via the facility of the ICT. It will help to
treat the patients even in remote and rural area in emergency situations.
He
added that, the medical scenario has developed a lot when compared to early
1980’s.
Reaching
its ultimate development in the treatment arena, a wide number of foreigners
are coming to India to get a first-class treatment at an affordable cost.
Prathap
C. Reddy, chairman, Apollo Hospitals Group and Preetha Reddy, managing director
of Apollo Hospitals participated in the program and he said that the purpose of
this Tele-Radiology is to afford healthcare without compromising on quality and
preventive healthcare, stressing on hygiene education, lifestyle care as well
as the upkeep of the environment.
