With the onset of rainy season come multiple diseases: cold, fever, cough, body pain and more. Particularly, in a state like Tamil Nadu where the road conditions are very poor in all urban and rural areas, rain water stagnation is more and gives rise to more number of cases of diseased patients.

The poor condition of roads led to overmuch pollution in the environment. Drinking water and stagnant water get mixed up with each other and serves as a good house for germs and insects to breed. This in turn gives rise to viral fevers, dysentery, cholera, typhoid, jaundice, and many other rainy season diseases.

Viruses and bacteria find this season the best to target humans. People who lag in having good immunity fall prey for these diseases.

Viral fever:

Flu fever stands on top of the list of all fevers in rainy season. This is caused by two or more viruses. When the infected person sneezes or coughs, the virus passes through air and infects others too. Symptoms of this type of virus are high fever, headache, body pain, pain in legs and hands, sneezing, running nose, cold, cough, throat pain, etc.

Fevers of this kind do not have any specific medication. All it requires is good rest and tablets like Paracetamol. Histamine medicines may be of help in curing running nose and sneezing. This doesn’t require too much care, as it will get its way back by itself in one week.

In case of young kids, it is recommended to stay at home than going to school. Give your body a good relaxation by wiping it with lukewarm water. Soak a fresh towel in hot water and dap it all over the body.
