Diabetes needs no introduction. When this finds room in your body, it will invite other diseases to share space in your organ system – heart disease is no exception. Amidst all the diseases and health ailments induced by diabetes, heart disease stands first. As known to everyone, heart attacks or other heart diseases are mainly due to blockage of blood vessels that supplies blood to heart muscles. In cases of diabetics, these blood vessels become too small and hence create complexities in treating them. Worsening this situation is the difficulty in diffusing these blockages.
Would you believe if we say half of Indians remain unaware that they are diabetic? That’s actually hard to believe, true though! But, we cannot blame such unawareness. While a fever can leave your body with increased temperature, a stomach pain can put you on bed annoyed, diabetes leaves nothing to identify its presence. Just like everyone say, is a silent killer. Well, chances are that you may be diabetic when any of your family members is so.
Coming on to the methods of handling the disease, it is recommended to maintain a balanced diet. Do not get into too much of diet, nor eat overmuch. Make your food habit healthy. Consume in small quantities – more importantly, eat at regular time intervals. Avoid foods rich in carbohydrates and consume more of protein-rich food. All these practices will considerably reduce the possibility of falling diabetic and will keep the disease at bay.
Never forget to spend time on exercise practices. If you live a sedentary life without enough body workouts, you have double the chance of getting a heart trouble.
Stay healthy!
Cheers!
