Resveratrol, an antioxidant compound resulting from grapes and gotten in wine, can hamper the growth of the bacteria that triggers acne, a recent research reveals.

The researchers from the University of California Los Angeles also confirms that blending the resveratrol compound along with a familiar acne medication including benzoyl peroxide, can enrich the drug`s knack to slay the bacteria and could decipher into new treatments.

According to the recent publication in the journal Dermatology and Therapy, it has been find out that the resveratrol and benzoyl peroxide assault the acne bacteria, called ‘Propioni bacterium acnes’ in several ways.

Benzoyl peroxide is an active oxidant that toils by framing free radicals, which slay the acne bacteria.

A recent study demonstrates that linking an oxidant with an antioxidant, may effectively enrich each other and help endure bacteria-fighting bustle for a longer period of time.

Resveratrol is the same compound that has provoked many doctors to suggest that adults consume red wine for its heart-healthiness characteristics. The antioxidant averts the growth of free radicals, which roots cell and tissue damage.

A team recently grew bacteria colonies that roots acne and then append several dilutions of resveratrol and benzoyl peroxide, both separately and together. Also the researchers observed the cultures for bacterial progression or killing for about 10 days. Unpredictably, these two compounds collectively proved its effectiveness in lowering the bacterial count.
Many scientists of the dermatology division says that, it was like linking the top of both worlds and presenting a two-branched hit on the bacteria. Thus in future these acne therapies that centre on antioxidants such as resveratrol will show its top part, many researchers concluded.
