According to a new study report, overuse of mobile phone may hurt your back. People, on an average spend at least two to four hours using their mobile phones every day. This has led to a condition where people without realizing their posture, start being in a very poor posture.

Speaking to a doctor at the New York Spine Surgery and Rehabilitation Medicine, on an average, the weight of a human head ranges between 10 to 12 pounds when it is held in a neutral or upright position. However, owing to the gravitational pull, it imposes heaviness on the cranium when a person bends his neck down.

The study results state that keeping your heads bent at 60 degree angle s equivalent to imposing 60 pounds pressure on your cervical spine which is the portion of spine that lies just above your shoulders. This weight of 60 pounds is indeed more weight than that of 7-years old kid.

Researchers also say that such bends and alterations done on the spine will make it lose its natural curve and imposes huge levels of stress causing wear and tear, degeneration and in worst cases, it may lead to surgeries.
