Heavy pollution in the air leads to the reduction of the lifetime in India by 3 years.
US researchers have established that there is an average reduction of 3 years in the lifespan of the Indians.
Harvard University has released a report on the air purity and pollution level in various countries. It established that around 66 Crores of Indians breathe polluted air and lose 3 years of their lifespan.
The researchers note that India, as a whole, loses 21 crore years of human life. They have registered that India’s productivity and development are severely affected by the heavy pollution in the air.
They have pointed that there are 13 Indian cities in the list of cities heavily affected by polluted air. This leads directly to loss of productivity and increase in medical expenses.
