Carbohydrate and your body

In the name of dieting, food rich in carbohydrate are completely avoided by those who diet. Here are few tips on what to take and what not to take and the quantity of intake required.

·         Eating every now and then is wrong. At the same time, completing avoiding food is bad too

·        For us humans, carbohydrate is the food that gives instant energy. However carbohydrate alone cannot suffice. Your body needs protein, fat, vitamins, minerals and more

·        Carbohydrate is found in milk, milk products, pulses, sweets, fruits, vegetables, etc. These items act as the driving force for us to carry out our daily activities. However, in the current world of healthcare, it is said that sugar contained in sweets or juices are bad carbohydrates whereas those that are rich in fibre are good carbohydrate

·        One gram of carbohydrate contains 4 grams calorie

·        One gram of protein contains 4 grams of calorie

·        One gram fat contains 4 grams of calorie

·        We gain energy from protein and fibre, however our body needs carbohydrate as well. This is because of the need for our brain for carbohydrate, as they cannot extract glucose out of fatty products

·        Protein and fat requires more water content to get digested, but carbohydrate items are not of that kind
