Tips for reducing Body heat in summer!

Here are some proven tips for much-needed cooling of your body during the scorching summer season:

Water:

Drink Lots of water: be aware that the more water you take, more heat gets dissipated from the body. Please note that drinking 8 glasses of water every day keep the body hydrated. You do not feel exhausted by the heat outside.

Watermelon:

The red & juicy fruit of the summer, watermelon, is worth waiting for the season! It is sweet and contains a lot of water. So, you can eat a chunky piece of watermelon during midday. This will help you get some extra water, fibre, and a good dose of vitamins ‘A’ & ‘C’. You can even apply some crushed watermelon on the face for some all-round cooling!

Honeydew melon

Along with mangoes & watermelon, honeydew melons are fruits worth waiting for the summer! This fruit is also rich in water content. Besides, it is a low-calorie fruit and contains Potassium. You have the option of ating the fruit directly or a milkshake with chilled milk & sugar!

Cardamom

Cardamom is very well-known for its cooling effects. Boil a pod of cardamom in 2 cups of water, strain and cool the water. You can drink this at regular intervals to reduce body heat!

Fenugreek seeds

Fenugreek seeds are well-known for a variety of medicinal properties. One of it properties is to reduce to body heat. Soak up a teaspoon of fenugreek seeds overnight in a glass of water.  Strain & cool the next day morning. Drink this. Crush the soaked seeds and apply it on your head as a hair-mask. This is an alternate cooling effect. There is another option of chewing the soaked fenugreek seeds to bring down the body heat.

Avoid spicy food

Spices add heat to the food. Hence, avoid spicy foods to bring down the body heat. Consume foods rich in fibre & water content hat are easy to digest, especially during summer.You may include leafy vegetables, cucumber, and buttermilk in your diet. Cut down consumption of sour food and nuts!

Tender coconut water

Nothing beats the heat like sipping tender coconut water! This water is rich in minerals & vitamins which help reduce the heat effects on the body and also prevent dehydration while not adding anything in calories to your diet! So, drink tender coconut every day to keep fit & cool!

Pranayama

There are forms of Pranayama called Sheetali & Sheetakari which help in reducing the temperature of the core of the body. This involves inhaling cool breath though the mouth and exhaling through the nose! Pranayama helps coll down the body and also alleviates both mental & physical stress!

Barley water

Boil 2 tsp of barley seeds in 2 cups of water for about half-an-hour. Cool & sip at regular intervals. This is certain to considerably reduce the body heat!

Sandalwood & fuller’s earth

Both sandalwood & fuller’s earth have cooling properties. Make a paste of sandalwood powder and fuller’s earth with some raraw milk. Apply this all over the body before your bath. This helps in cooling down the body immediately
