A strict diet pattern for diabetics

Diabetic patients are advised not just to take medicines but to follow healthy diet practices. Let’s see the recommended food for diabetic patients.
 
Confusions prevail among most patients on what to take and what not to. Doctors generally advise them to avoid food rich in carbohydrate such as rice. Further, consumption of such items in large quantity is to be completely avoided, they stress.
 
·         A cup of sugar-free coffee around 6 am

·         2 Chapathi, wheat dhosai or ragi dhosai, or 3 idli at 9 am

·         A cup of sugar-free coffee or tea at 11 am, or a glass full of lime juice without sugar

·         Minimal quantity of rice in the noon around 1 pm accompanied by vegetables and greens

·         Around 4 pm, one or two biscuit without much sugar content

·         For night dinner, a plate similar to that of morning breakfast will do
 
Taking one piece of sweet, say Jangiri will be equal to having a complete box of lunch. Hence, diabetics should completely stop taking sweets in any form. Doctors however say fruits with less sugar content are good for consumption. They always recommend taking food of less calories and avoid high glycemic index foods.
